Got a piece of the summer of love? Let's put it on display
Hey there, it's Rachel! Music City is expanding the San Francisco Music Hall of Fame with a brand-new exhibit dedicated to the Summer of Love — the era that put San Francisco on the map as a countercultural and musical mecca.
We’re looking for relics of that revolutionary time: vintage guitars, psychedelic posters, photos from Golden Gate Park, handbills, journals, ticket stubs — anything that captures the spirit of ’67!
Got a piece of that history hiding in a closet?
Loan or donate it to the San Francisco Music Hall of Fame and help inspire the next generation of dreamers, rockers, rebels, and change-makers.
All items donated or loaned to the Summer of Love exhibit will be held within a secure glass case to protect the integrity of the artifacts.
This is intented to be a permanent exhibit. You're welcome to loan items for any amount of time that works best for you!
Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions at all!
a musician's vision
Music City San Francisco is the brainchild of Rudy Colombini, a native San Franciscan with a deep love of music and the city that inspired him. Rudy’s dedication and commitment to creating a place where all people can learn and perform music and art combined with his dream to honor the rich musical history of San Francisco has led him to create this unique network of services.
In 2025, Rudy was awarded the CBS News Bay Area Icon Award for outstanding community service! The award honors community heroes who dedicate their lives to making our San Francisco Bay Area a better place for everyone.
MISSION - To become the engine for talent and commerce that drives the rebirth of San Francisco's music culture by cultivating an artist development ecosystem that empowers musicians and performers to thrive in the Bay Area and beyond.
PURPOSE - Music City San Francisco stands as the community to nourish and sustain the future of music in San Francisco as well as the musician, preserving the Bay Area's rich musical history and provide a destination for fans, history buffs, and musicians for generations to come.
