Learn the Fundamentals. Build Real Confidence.

Our 1-on-1 DJ sessions are tailored to your current experience level, goals, and musical interests. You work directly with an instructor who can help you strengthen your foundation, improve your technique, and build confidence behind the decks.

These sessions are ideal for students who want more personalized support than a traditional class can offer. Instead of moving at a group pace, you can focus on the areas that matter most to you and develop your skills through guided, hands-on practice.

What You Can Learn in Our Private DJ Lessons

Our 1-on-1 DJ lessons in San Francisco can help you develop practical skills in key areas of modern DJing, including:

  • Track selection and playlist building
  • Beatmatching and tempo control
  • Smooth transitions using EQ, filters, and faders
  • Cueing, looping, and phrasing
  • Basic music theory for transitions and mashups
  • Reading the room and shaping the flow of a set
  • Library organization and track preparation
  • Building confidence on professional DJ equipment

Each lesson is designed to give you practical experience you can apply in real DJ settings, whether you want to mix for fun, perform at events or online, or if you’re simply looking to develop your creative skills.

Train on Industry Standard Gear

Lessons take place in our DJ lab in San Francisco, located inside the Music City Starfactory campus. You’ll practice on professional gear, like our Pioneer DJ CDJ-3000s and Pioneer DJ DJM-A9 4-Channel Mixer, in a space built for music-making, not a sterile classroom.

The goal is to make the equipment feel familiar, so you can focus on the music instead of worrying about the technology in front of you.

Who These DJ Lessons Are For

These DJ lessons in San Francisco are a great fit for people who want a real starting point and a better way to learn.

You might be a fit if you:

  • want to learn how to DJ from scratch
  • have been practicing on your own and want real guidance
  • make music and want to perform it live
  • want private coaching instead of a group class
  • are looking for a creative outlet that is hands-on and music-driven
