San Francisco music hall of fame

The san francisco music hall of fame

The only San Francisco Music Hall of Fame honoring the Bay Area’s past and present music history is proudly operated under Music City Artist Development 501(c)(3). Located inside Music City Starfactory in the heart of the city, the San Francisco Hall of Fame honors all Bay Area musical history, including musicians, producers, cultural leaders, places, and events that shaped the city’s iconic sound.

The San Francisco Music Hall of Fame is comprised of three parts: The Gallery, The Brick Walk, and the Visionar Exhibits. Together they represent and showcase the rich musical history of San Francisco and the Bay Area artists that helped define many generations.

The Gallery

Named Best New Museum Experience by San Francisco Magazine, The Gallery is a collection of 90+ high-quality large-format photography prints dominating the walls of the Music City Hotel hallways. Each print is accompanied by tributes written by prominent national writers like Ben Fong-Torres [Rolling Stone Magazine], Emma Silvers [KQED], Joel Selvin [SF Chronicle], and more. The accompanying audio tour component is included.

VISIONARS

We’re expanding the concept of the Hall of Fame Gallery and installing multiple exhibits throughout the complex. Every exhibit holds memorabilia that continues to pay homage to the past musicians who paved the way for music in the Bay Area and the world!

Brick Walk

At the entrance to our building, we have put together over 300 bricks of amazing acts, venues, journalists, photographers, and others that were associated with the San Francisco music scene over the last 60 years.

Herb greene
