HOTEL

Check-In time is 3 PM for all guests. If you arrive before check-in is allowed, the Front Desk can hold and safely store your luggage until the room is ready.

Check-Out time is 11 AM for all guests. We do not provide late checkouts, at this time.

There’s a few options! 1) During Front Desk hours, you can stop by the Front Desk and check-out directly with the Staff or 2) You can deposit your keycards in the drop box located outside the Front Desk, if Front Desk staff are unavailable.

All payments must be made with a debit or credit card (VISA, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover) along with photo ID. We do not accept any cash payments or deposits. Pre-paid gift cards are accepted for dorm reservations only. Debit card payments for private rooms may be subject to a $250 deposit or authorization hold.

A room with a shared bathroom means that the restrooms and showers are located in several accessible locations throughout the hallways. All restrooms and showers are single occupancy and are cleaned several times daily. The shared restrooms are not connected directly to the rooms.

Yes! We can store your luggage for you for free, in a secure location, if you arrive before the room is ready and would like to start exploring the city. Additionally, after you check out, we can store your luggage up until the end of the day when we close at 11 PM. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

For late arrival after 11 PM, please contact the front desk at least 48 hours in advance to make necessary arrangements for a late/self check in. We will request some documents from you and will charge the full reservation amount in advance.

There is a parking garage located on the same block as us at the corner of Polk & Bush streets with a daily rate of $36 for 24 hours (there is a special $8 overnight rate if you enter after 9 PM and exit before 9 AM the next day); however, we do not have parking of our own. The parking garage on Polk & Bush is locked up at night and is a secure place to park overnight. Street parking is free in the city after 6 PM; however, please be aware of signs for parking and street cleaning restrictions to avoid getting your vehicle towed and avoiding fines. It is NOT recommended to leave items visible in your car overnight in San Francisco.

Yes! The hotel sits atop 3 floors of various music rehearsal studios, music venues, and music education studios. Before the Music City San Francisco expansion, there were over 15 fully equipped music rehearsal studio rooms in the basement of the building. Back then, the music could be faintly heard from the hotel floors but it was always a welcome buzz to our music and artist-friendly guests. With the expansion of the new rehearsal studios, we’ve spared no expense in optimizing sound-reduction and sound-dampening solutions to maintain a perfect balance for everyone. If you’re ever interested in using the rehearsal studios while you’re a guest in the hotel, check out the rehearsal website or speak to a Front Desk agent!

Yes! We provide free, fast, and accessible Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. Ask the Front Desk for the password.

At Music City San Francisco, we provide two room types: Shared Capsule Rooms and Private Music-Themed Rooms. Since we installed brand-new Japanese-style capsule bunk beds throughout the hotel, we’ve updated the name to “Shared Capsule Rooms” instead of “Shared Dormitory Rooms”. Shared Capsule Rooms can accommodate up to five other members of the same gender staying inside the room. Capsules are similar to bunk beds: there are two beds stacked on top of one another. A reservation is for one bed and accommodates a single individual. For personal items, we provide lockers within the room; however, you must provide your own security lock. A Shared Capsule Room is a great way to meet people while traveling on a budget!

We cannot guarantee availability or any requests for specific beds in a Shared Capsule Room. Priority is given to individuals staying for longer periods of time and/or with special conditions approved with the Hotel management. We always do our best to accommodate any special requirements or requests, but they are not guaranteed.

Yes! Breakfast is complimentary when you book directly through Music City San Francisco’s hotel website (musiccitysf.org/hotel) or directly with our Front Desk staff. We’ve partnered with a local breakfast coffeehouse, Cup-A-Joe, who provides a few options to choose from when you present your breakfast voucher. There is also complimentary coffee, tea, and an assortment of fruit available daily at the Front Desk.

Yes! The Common Room is accessible from the stairs on your way up to the Hotel floors – or – if you’re coming down from the Hotel floors. The Common Room boasts a large table, chairs, a mini-refrigerator, a microwave, a TV, an XBOX hooked up with Guitar Hero 3, and the same free Wi-Fi available throughout the Hotel. Hostel and Hostel guests are invited to share the space, meet fellow travelers, and find new ways to enjoy their time in San Francisco! There is no Common Kitchen. For rooms with a kitchen, you can book one of the Six Bed Shared Capsule rooms. Every room in the Hotel comes with a sink and mini-refrigerator.

We do not have a business center but the Front Desk are always available to help with small printing needs, like printing a boarding pass or tickets. If you require a larger print job, the Front Desk can provide you with direction to the nearest FedEx Office.

Unfortunately, we do not. We are a certified historic building and do not have an elevator. To reach the Music City Hotel floors, there are two flights of stairs. Please do not hesitate to ask for assistance in carrying your bags up to the Front Desk or your room – we’re here to help make your stay amazing and will always help when we can!

We are located next to the vibrant Polk Street, a major area for restaurants, bars, and shops. The area around the hotel is safe to walk around at night; however, one should take the same precautions one would take in any large, metropolitan city and remain aware of their surroundings. Our staff will be happy to assist you in advising you and marking on your map any particular areas of the city to be avoided.

Yes! We provide complimentary shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and soap to all of our hotel and hostel guests.

Yes! We provide daily fresh towels for both Shared Capsule Room and Private Room hotel and hostel guests. Linens are provided for Shared Capsule Room reservations.

Yes! Through our relationship with Lyft Concierge Services, we are able to reserve transportation on your behalf TO and FROM the SFO airport. Costs for this service vary depending on the date and the time of day. Please contact the Front Desk if you would like to use this service – they will arrange things for you!

The maximum stay for the hotel is 21 nights at a time. Please inquire with the Front Desk staff if you’re looking for any stays longer than this period.
